Setup the Magtek Imager:  (click here to open in Word)

1.  Connect the imager.
2.  Start the MICRBase by going to "Start", "All Programs", "Check Cashing Software" then "MICRBase".  

3.  From the MICRBase, select "Communicate", "Communication Setup" then "Auto Detect RS232 Parameters".

4.  If the device is connected properly, it will display MICR detected and the port.

5.  Select "Ok", "Configure" then "Upload Configuration From MICR".

6.  Set ALL of the setting for the imager as seen below.

7.  After changing the settings, select "DOWNload Configuration To MICR".
8.  Select "OK" and exit out of MICRBase. If you are asked to save your changes, select "No".
9.  Open Check Cashing Software.
10.  Select "Manager". The code and password are 1 and 1 by default.
11.  Select "Terminal Information".
12.  Place a check in "Magtek MICRImage" and set the port number from step 4.
13.  Select "Next". You will be prompted to install the ActiveX controls. Select "Yes" and accept the default setting during the installation.
14.  Check Cashing Software will need to be restarted for the imager to be used.
15.  Select "Next" to save the changes and "Next" again to exit the manager’s screen. Now you can restart Check Cashing Software.
16.  From the checkout screen or quick cashing screen, you can run the check through the scanner and a thumb nail size image will appear on the screen if the device was successfully installed.
